Nearly 500 set to graduate

As the end of the Spring Semester nears, plans for graduation are underway.
The ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 27, in the gymnasium.
An academic award ceremony will be held on Thursday night.
Rosemary Smith, graduation coordinator, said that 482 students applied to graduate, however not all applicants will make it through to graduation.
Students will have their transcripts reviewed by the Registrar’s office to be sure all requirements are met.
Graduating students will receive a letter confirming their eligibility a few days prior to graduation.
The Program will begin with the Academic Processional that will be played by the Schenectady Pipe Band.
The Processional will be followed by Suzanne Pacillo singing the National Anthem.
The introduction of the platform party will be given by Dr. Greg Truckenmiller, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.
FM President Dustin Swanger will then welcome students, their families, and FM faculty.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates will be Marlaina Elizabeth Wing.
George Amedore Jr., Assemblymen of the 105th District, will then give the Keynote Address.
The Chancellor’s Award for Excellence will be presented by President Swanger after which Dr. Truckenmiller will present the candidates with degrees and certificates.
Nursing and Radiologic Technology graduates will also receive their school pin.
Chair Board of Trustees, Taiyebeh Ghazi-Moghadam will accept the FM graduates and Dr. Truckenmiller will confer all of the degrees.
The Schenectady Pipe Band will then end the ceremony with the Recessional.
