Mental Health Counseling Offers Road to Stress Free Semester

By Corine Walker

Mental health counseling is available for students.

The Student Outreach Service Program is a frontline to direct students to counseling when desired. The program is destined to help students with personal issues and even when overwhelmed with school. “S.O.S is a friendly open door, you will not be judged”. Christie Crawford stated.

Located in the Student Development Center, S.O.S has several trained counselors; Mary Joe, Christie Crawford and Ferraullo-Davis. If in crisis, by appointment, students can speak with Angela Rhodes, who has also worked at St. Mary’s Hospital. On a daily basis students come in to talk to a counselor about anything that’s bothering them or just a helping hand.

There are several student activities that helps keep students going and to keep stress away.
