The Civility and Peace club attended the FMCC club fair this past Wednesday and Thursday.
The Civility and Peace Club was established last semester. The club’s President and Treasurer, Brittany Van Avery and Mellissa Greco, respectively, represented the club at the fair.
The club is not anti-war, but does discuss civility on campus and human rights said Van Avery. “The club has a very non-threatening atmosphere where people are open-minded about others ideas and perspectives” says club President, Brittany Van Avery.
Throughout the semester, the club’s goals include getting more people involved, to continue to grow and a peace walk during the Human Rights week at the beginning of December.
The club is in its infant stages right now, being created just last semester. So if you’re attending FMCC and are looking to join any extra-curricular activities, the Civility and Peace club has a spot for you!
