The Student Government Association at FM met recently to discuss upcoming events, discuss issues on campus and answers to questions concerning clubs.
The main discussion was the Kite Flying Event that will be held on Nov. 22. Members of the organization are asking people to volunteer and make kites and the goal for this is to bring more people together. Members of the organization will set up kit making areas throughout the campus to attract new people and get them to join the vent.
The meeting discussed old business starting with fixing and adding more basketball hoops and backboards. The school wants more artwork to be put on the walls from past students and current students. Maintenance wants to put another hydration station on the basemen and the school wants to see if they can afford to install printer they already have.
The SGA also wants to a clearing of 5-foot path with woodchips as the base for a new jogging path.
The meeting then discussed new business beginning with the Veteran’s club budget requesting $2300 from the contingency account for flags to support soldiers who fought for their country.
The MTVU has an upcoming project that will be discussed at another meeting. The Club Wars (United Way) is a very friendly way for clubs to raise money for the United Way. The money stays locally. The money should be raised by December 4. An award will be given to the club that raises the most money.
The next SGA meeting with be Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Large Lounge, College Union.
