Did you hear? The Student Activities Board started this new thing called Brown Paper Bag Seminars. Its where teachers talk about things you wouldn’t expect them to even like.
“Sometimes teachers have goals besides what their career aspirations are. That’s why the Brown Paper Bag seminar was created,” says Gwendolyn Ossenkop, Coordinator of Student Activities and Director of the College Union. The seminar is when teachers and faculty do an hour presentation on something their passionate about. This event takes place once a month, wherever the speaker feel comfortable to do it as long as it fits the venue.
“There have been people who want to talk about how to train dogs and their vacation trips they took to how to write poetry.” Ossenkop said.
This event was made to show teachers and faculties are regular people to who likes to have fun and have dreams just like students do.
The next Brown Paper Bag seminars are in November and February.
