Winnie Blackwood is graduating this semester with a degree in Communications and Broadcast Media.
A Johnstown local, Blackwood will be transferring to State University of New York at Oswego to major in Journalism.
Blackwood’s career goals are to “eventually become a reporter for a newspaper.”
Blackwood recalls her time at FM “filled with many great memories. The friends [she’s] made during [her] time are friendships that will last a lifetime.”
“We’ve been through so much in these past two years, laughter and even some tears,” she said. “The relationships I’ve built with several of my professors are also very special to me. Because of them I’m on the right path to reaching my career goals.”
“While I am very sad to leave FM and the many people that have touched my life, I know it’s time to move on to another chapter. I am both excited and nervous at this thought” Blackwood added.
Blackwood was an active member of the Communications Club as the secretary and as editor of the Gateway for the past two years. She was also secretary and vice president of the Community Outreach Club, as well as a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
