Get ready to scream at the top of your lungs because the Residence Life club is hosting a Halloween party.
Asiana Smith, the club’s advisor and Resident Director at Campus View, said, “The idea for the Halloween party came from [there] being a popular demand by the residential students. The students wanted a party and we thought it [would] be a great idea to make it a bigger event than your average party.”
Smith added, “We also wanted [the party] to serve a good purpose, so we decided the proceeds generated from the party will be used to send water to the people of Flint, Michigan. For those who aren’t familiar, Flint is suffering a water crisis where their only available water is tainted with lead and poisoning their kids. One year later this community is still suffering, not having clean water to cook, shower or drink. Media attention on this has died down and so has support. So one of the first events for Res. Life Club will give back in two ways, giving something to the FM community while also giving to the people of Flint.”
The costume party will consist of activities such as dance contests (twerking, Millie rock and many more) and a costume contest.
“You can expect an epic event from the Res. Life club. The students put in tremendous effort. You can expect a good time and we look forward to seeing you there!” said Smith.
When asked what was next for the resident life club, Smith said “We have tons of ideas in the works, for instance we want to do a fashion show with BLSA. We also want to try to go to new places other than bowling or skating. The ideas are endless, just be on the lookout for more events from Res. Life Club. “
The costume party will be held October 28, at Raiders Cove at 10 pm. Tickets will be $3 for students and $2 for students in costume!
